Drink spiking is a calculated, often premeditated crime, and it’s far more common than most people realise. Victims are left traumatised, disbelieved, and in some cases seriously harmed – yet spiking remains poorly understood, rarely prosecuted, and dangerously underreported.
It affects people of all genders, in every kind of setting – from clubs and pubs to festivals, house parties, and even student halls. This is not a prank. This is not “just part of a night out.” It’s a serious crime – and it’s time we treated it like one.
WHAT WE DO
We tackle the problem of drink spiking from all angles – prevention, response, and long-term change:
SUPPORT VICTIMS
We offer practical guidance, reporting tools, and a platform for victims to be heard and believed.
RAISE AWARENESS
We run national campaigns that challenge myths, start conversations, and make drink spiking impossible to ignore.
GIVE VICTIMS A VOICE
We help victims share their stories publicly and with policymakers – making sure they’re heard, believed, and part of the solution.
TRAIN THE FRONTLINE
We deliver specialist training to bar staff, venues and the security industry, equipping them to spot, respond to and prevent spiking.
EMPOWER THE PUBLIC
We give people the knowledge and tools to protect themselves and others – and the confidence to speak up.
PARTNERSHIPS
We work with venues, event organisers and local authorities to distribute prevention tools and improve safety on the ground.
PUSH FOR STRONGER LAWS
We campaign to make drink spiking a clearly defined criminal offence and advise policymakers on how to tackle it effectively.
IMPROVE REPORTING & RESPONSE
We work to strengthen reporting pathways and help ensure spiking is taken seriously by authorities, venues, and institutions.
LEAD NATIONAL RESEARCH
We expose the true scale of the problem with data-driven research that informs action and policy.
DAWN DINES, FOUNDER & CEO
Dawn Dines founded Stamp Out Spiking to do what no one else was doing: tackle drink spiking head-on.
After hearing far too many stories – and witnessing the impact firsthand – Dawn made it her mission to raise awareness, support victims, and campaign for systemic change.
She’s spent over 20 years speaking out about drink spiking, pushing for legal reform, training venues and frontline staff, and amplifying the voices of those affected. Her work has led to national campaigns, government engagement and a growing movement determined to stamp out spiking for good.
“People didn’t want to believe this was happening. That made me want to shout louder – for the people who couldn’t.”
— Dawn Dines, Founder & CEO
